Where Delaware County Work Injuries Come From
Delaware County is a big, rural county with a small number of large employers. Amphenol Aerospace in Sidney, with roughly a thousand employees, is the largest. The others I see most often are SUNY Delhi and the Delaware County government in Delhi, the Kraft Heinz plant in Walton, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection reservoir and watershed operations, the hospitals — O’Connor Hospital in Delhi and UHS Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton — and the school districts and dairy farms across the county.
Manufacturing injuries from Amphenol, repetitive-strain and cold-room injuries from the Walton food plant, patient-handling injuries from the hospitals and nursing homes, and equipment injuries from farms and highway crews make up most of my Delaware County caseload. Farm workers in particular are often told they are not covered. They are.

I grew up in Syracuse. I received a BA in Chemistry from Wesleyan University in 1996 and an MS in Chemistry from Northwestern University in 1997. I graduated from Cornell Law School in 2001, then worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan.
For the past 20+ years I’ve lived in Oneonta, NY, with a practice focused on helping injured workers navigate the New York State Workers’ Compensation system. I’ve litigated against most major employers in our area and know how they — and their insurance carriers — handle workers’ comp claims.
