I’m Kip Wilson, a workers’ compensation lawyer in Oneonta, NY. My practice is limited to representing injured workers before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board — that’s all I do.
I built my practice around one idea: injured workers deserve a lawyer who actually returns their calls, understands their case, and stays in it from start to finish. I personally handle every case at this firm.
Background
I grew up in Syracuse. I received a BA in Chemistry from Wesleyan University in 1996 (with honors) and an MS in Chemistry from Northwestern University in 1997. I graduated from Cornell Law School in 2001. After law school I worked as an Assistant District Attorney at the Manhattan DA’s office.
I moved to Oneonta in 2004 and have represented injured workers across the region ever since. Over those 20+ years I’ve litigated against most major employers in this area and know how they — and their insurance carriers — handle workers’ comp claims.
Outside the office
My wife is a local teacher. We have two kids, 15 and 13, both in the Oneonta School District. I’m a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Oneonta.
I’m a hiker. I’ve climbed the Catskill 3500 peaks both in summer and in winter, summited the 100 highest public peaks in the Catskills, and walked every named trail in the range. I’m a lifetime member of the 3500 Club and the Catskill Mountain Club. My son and I are also avid skiers — I worked as a ski instructor through high school and college, and we still get out as a family every winter.
